The Chakras, existing at the energy level, can be thought of as transformers that process the energy through our body minds into the physical world. The body, mind and emotions are all extensions of chakra function. Changes and focus at one level will bring automatic changes at every level.
Visuddhi
The Throat Chakra
Ether or space element and sense of hearing.
It represents communication. It allows us to communicate how we feel and what we think.

Manipura
The Navel Chakra
The fire elements and sense of sight.
It represents determination, ambition, self confidence, growth. The third chakra is situated behind the navel at the solar plexus. It is the center of inner power and drive and is associated with the personnality, defining the boundaries of the individual. Its physical attributes are the digestion, the nervous system and the immune system.

Ajna
The Brow Chakra
It represents balance, intuition, exploration, sleep, dream. This chakra is located in the centre of the forehead. Ajna, meaning command, is directly related to the senses of sight and hearing. It is the seat of understanding from where we picture how the world is.
Practice posture: Clear seeing (seeing is not simply a sense of perception, seeing also relies on the flexibility of the mind as well as the sharpness of the eyes).
Anahata
The Heart Chakra
The air element and sense of touch.
It represents sharing, caring, self acceptance. It is located at the centre of the sternum. It relates to the traditional love we have towards others but also to oneself. It is at the centre of the main chakras and is the balance point for the system.
Practice posture: Gomukhasana
Muladhara
The Base or Root Chakra
The earth element and sense of smell.
It represents emotions, security, branding, sexuality, fear. It is located at the bottom of the spine. This is the rock upon which the whole chakra system stand.
Practice posture: Exercise the sense of touch, attending to practical matters, such as massage, aromatherapy or walking to reconnect with co-ordination and our link to the planet.
